Happy October Navigator Families! We hope it’s been a great start to the school year!

​

The PTO is excited to plan some fun and community building activities this year, but we need your help!  We will be sending out a monthly newsletter with upcoming events and volunteer opportunities, and we hope you will join us!

Upcoming Events and Volunteer Opportunities:
 

Library Volunteer

• Mrs. Petrie is looking for a volunteer on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12-1:00. Main responsibility would be to assist students in checking out books.

Spanish Club

• Mrs. Torres is looking for a few volunteers on Tuesday 10/4, Tuesday 10/11 to help with decorations for the Spanish Club kick off on 10/14/22. She is also requesting volunteers for 10/14/22 for the kick off.

Fall Fest- 10/28/22

• We are planning a night of fun at the school on Friday 10/28/22 from 6-7:30pm. Activities will include a Trunk or Treat, free popcorn stand, a candy guessing game! We encourage all to dress up in costumes! Volunteers needed for:

1. 1. Trunk or Treat- We are looking for approximately 20 cars to park and pass out candy to students. Some are planning on decorating their trunk/back of their car! If any assistance is needed in purchasing Candy please let me know.

   2. Popcorn- Looking for help to make and pass out popcorn. We have created 30-minute slots for sign up so you and your family can also enjoy the event.

   3. Candy Guessing Jar- We will have 2 large jars of candy that will be displayed in a display case in the main hallway at school the week of fall fest. Kids will be able to guess the amount at Fall Fest, and the winner gets to keep the candy! We will need a few volunteers to man the guessing table on Friday night, and take students' votes.

   4. Greeters – Hoping for a few helpers to greet people as they come in and help guide activities.

Zumba Night 11/16/22

• Come join us for a Zumba class with your family! More details to come.

Art Discovery

• If interested in volunteering for art discovery for your child’s class, please reach out to your child’s teacher, or columbiavalley.artdiscovery@gmail.com. This occurs once per month.

• The background check and requirements can be found following this link, click volunteer forms: https://sites.google.com/evergreenps.org/volunteers/volunteers

• After you fill out the application on-line, stop by the office with required drivers license/vaccination card if required. 

• Once completed, this is good for 2 years.

• Please note: after November 1, 2022 - proof of COVID vaccination is no longer required to volunteer.
